Method to Fix if Window Defender Unexpected Problem Occur:
1. Clean Boot your Computer:
First, you need to press Windows Key + R at the same time and then enter msconfig. After this, press Enter or click OK button. Here, the System Configuration window will display on your screen. Then, you need to visit to the Services tab and just check Hide all Microsoft services. At this point, you need to hit on Disable all button. Now, you need to go to the Startup tab and then tap on Open Task Manager. When the Task Manager opens, then you’ll see a list of startup applications. Next, you need to right-click the first entry on the list and just select Disable from the menu. When you disable all startup applications, then you need to close Task Manager and then go back to System Configuration window. Lastly, click on Apply and OK button and then restart your PC.
2. Check your System Files:
You need to press Windows Key + X in order to open the Win + X menu and then select Command Prompt (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin) from the menu. After this, you need to type the command and then hit on Enter:
Now, the System File Checker tool will fix the corruption in system files.
In case, the SFC scan doesn’t solve the problem, then you should use DISM scan. For this, you should start Command Prompt as administrator. After Command Prompt starts, then you need to enter the command and then press Enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Now, DISM scan will start. Remember, DISM scan will take 30 minutes, so you should not interrupt it. When the DISM scan is finished, then you should check if the problem still persists or not.
3. Restart Security Center Service:
You need to press Windows key + R in order launch Run. After this, you need to type services.msc and tap on Enter. Then in Services, you should search for Security Center. At last, you should right-click on Security Center and then click on Restart. For more info, tap on office.com/setup.
4. Ensure your Windows is Up to Date:
First of all, you need to press Windows Key + I in order to open the Settings app. Then, you should go to the Update & Security section. After this, you need to tap on Check for updates button which is in the right side of the screen.
5. Make Changes to your Registry:
You need to press Windows Key + R altogether and then enter regedit. After this, you need to press Enter or click OK. When Registry Editor opens up your screen, then go to the following path:
Here in the right side, you need to double-click DisableAntiSpyware DWORD. If in case, this value isn’t available, then you should create it just by right-click on the empty space and then choose New and click DWORD (32-bit) Value. At last, you should set the Value data to 0 and then click on OK to save the changes.
